Cinnamon Bear
Classic children's Christmas serial: Judy and Jimmy Barton search for the family's Silver Star that tops their Christmas tree. They meet the Cinnamon Bear (Paddy O'Cinnamon) and fly to Maybeland in his Soda Pop Airplane in pursuit of the Crazy Quilt Dragon. Each episode is a cliffhanger; the star is eventually recovered in time for Christmas. Written by Glanville Heisch for his daughter Catherine. Historians differ on the first-broadcast year (1937 vs 1943); airplay ran from just after Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve.
The Cinnamon Bear is an old-time radio program produced by Transco, based in Hollywood, California. The series comprised 26 episodes, and was specifically designed to be listened to six days a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
