Stolen Silver Clock
# Radio Episode Summary This morning, Patti Hamilton is cleaning the hallway when someone comes to the door. They talk about how well her husband Randy's medical practice is doing. Her friend Mrs. Washburn stops by and feels bad because her family recently switched to a different doctor. We find out that Patti is expecting a baby, which is why she quit her job at Randy's office. Reverend Dennis gave the Eldridges a nice silver clock as a gift, but when they got back from their trip, the clock was gone. Mrs. Washburn thinks Skip Norris took it and mentions that Richard Dennis is her father. The scene changes to Lydia and Donald's house. Donald is heading out to work, and once he leaves, Lydia calls New Hope Hospital on the phone. She wants to know if Dr. Randy Hamilton is still there, but finds out he already left. Donald has the missing clock hidden in his bedroom drawer, and Lydia goes to get it. The drawer is locked, so she gets nervous when she thinks she hears someone outside. She tells herself that Donald is trying to protect her, but she can't let Skip get blamed for this. She finds the key under one of Donald's shirts and picks up the little silver clock. She feels terrible about what she did and realizes the clock won't fix how empty and lonely she feels. She's scared that nobody can know what
The Brighter Day is an American daytime soap opera that aired on CBS from January 4, 1954, to September 28, 1962. Originally created for NBC Radio by Irna Phillips in 1948, the radio and television versions ran simultaneously from 1954–56. Set in New Hope, Wisconsin, the series revolved around Reverend Richard Dennis and his four children, Althea, Patsy, Babby and Grayling.
