The Constable
When a trail boss objects to Marshal Dillon's peacekeeping methods and the town merchants ask him to ease off, Dillon vows to make no further arrests. The town then hires an unusual "constable" to keep the peace. The script was used previously on the program of May 8, 1954 (see cat. #47830) and on the Gunsmoke television series on May 30, 1959. The system cue is added live.
