Luke Slaughter of Tombstone

An adult Western that aired on CBS Radio for 16 weeks in 1958. Set in the American Southwest of the early 1880s, mainly in and around Tombstone, Arizona. Luke Slaughter was written and played as a tough, no-nonsense cattleman with a strong sense of justice, assisted by his grizzled old cowhand sidekick Wichita Bagby. The character was based on Old West legend John Horton Slaughter (Texas John Slaughter). It was William N. Robson's second tour producing/directing a radio Western (after Hawk Larabee). Came too late in radio's Golden Age and was cancelled after 16 weeks.
