Cromwell To Philadelphia (V)

# Paul Cromwell's Chicago Evening It's early evening in Paul Cromwell's hotel room in Chicago, and the weather outside is freezing cold. Paul's assistant Max is sitting alone by a window that's open just a crack. Paul had pretended to love Lisa Fenner to make Kit Meade happy, and he got Lisa to give her baby to Kit. However, Kit only cared about her own husband and was just using Paul the whole time. Paul comes back from talking to Lisa, where he told her he never planned to marry her. He asks Max to pack their bags so they can head back to Philadelphia. Next, Paul has Max call Lisa, who is also staying at the hotel (Max politely asks for "Mrs. Fenner"). Paul asks her to have dinner with him before he leaves on the train, but she says no. She tells him she doesn't hold him responsible for anything, but she says it in such a cold way that it worries him. Now let me tell you about Kit. She's probably the most fascinating person in this story. She's beautiful, but she's also deeply unhappy and doesn't know how to fix it. Later on in the show, Kit goes to court for lying under oath. The District Attorney wants her to go to prison for ten years, even though her lawyer has proof that she had serious mental health problems right before she testified in court.
