A Curious Experience

In a Civil War fort in New London, Connecticut, Major and Sergeant Rayburn keep things running smoothly until a boy named Robert Wicklow arrives with a tale of his father’s lynching by rebels. He is taken in as a drummer, but his strange behavior raises doubts about his loyalty and leads to a tense climax when a conspiracy comes to light.

It's 1862 and a pale, ragged 16-year-old, Robert Wicklow, who claims he's a homeless Southerner, tries to enlist in a Union fort in New London, Connecticut. The major in charge, a man with feelings, permits Wicklow to join the fort's musicians. But soon Wicklow is caught writing suspicious notes and is accused of spying. He finally confesses, but in doing so, implicates half of the fort's troops as well as several prominent townspeople.

At a Civil War military base in New London, Connecticut, Major and Sergeant Rayburn run operations without problems until a young man called Robert Wicklow shows up claiming rebels killed his father by hanging. They let him join as a drummer boy, but his odd actions make them question if he can be trusted, building up to a dangerous moment when they discover a secret plot.
