A God Named Smith

Smith, the youthful prodigy of Ardmore University, is expelled after an experiment explodes. He then builds a new world in space, bringing financial gain but also tragedy. His success provokes a rebellion against him that leads to his creation's destruction in an atomic blast. The survivors are forever changed by the perilous path of ambition.

Smith, just 12 years old and a college senior, is asked by his upper classmates, as a joke, to build something man has always needed—a left-handed monkey wrench. He does and proceeds to develop, in the laboratory, a small planet. After more work, he is able to launch the materials necessary to construct another planet, 3,000 miles in diameter, in space. This causes a panic as most of the earth’s best scientists, business leaders, artists and writers decide to migrate to Smith’s world, billed as true paradise.

A brilliant young student at Ardmore University gets kicked out when his experiment blows up. He creates a new world in outer space that makes him rich but also brings disaster. His achievements make people turn against him, and they destroy what he built with an atomic bomb. The people who live through it are changed forever by the dangerous road that comes with wanting too much.
