Area Thirteen

In a world of computer-chosen marriages and professions, programmed personalities and reproduction by artificial insemination exists, a handful of human beings live under the constant surveillance of the Provost. When the computers detect an unreported individualistic 9-year-old son belonging to humans, Dr. Keith Lewton and his wife, who live in Area Thirteen, undercover agent Vignor is ordered to find the boy and take him to the accommodators for brainwashing. The emotionless robots who govern society by computer in the year 2176 feel endangered by the minority of free-thinking human beings.

In the year 2176, a strict government called the accommodators controls everyone and makes people hide their feelings. Keith and Delia are a brave husband and wife who live in Area 13 and secretly raise their son Eric while being watched all the time. Their neighbor and friend Marissa Finlayson helps them take care of Eric and shares their worries, but her presence brings both trust and stress to their family.
