Childish Laughter

A researcher visits a spooky old house after barely getting away from a ghostly young girl he met while driving. He tries to ignore the sound of a child laughing that fills the rooms, but when he sees an old painting and remembers the terrible thing that happened because of a formula he created, he learns what really occurred.

A scientist is drawn to a haunted mansion after he narrowly escapes a phantom girl on the road. His reason rebels against the laughter of a child that echoes through the halls, but an old portrait and a flood of guilt from a past incident involving a chemical he developed show the truth.

While driving along a deserted road, chemist Hugh Montrose, trying to avoid a little girl, crashes into a tree. When he regains consciousness, Montrose frantically searches for the girl, whom he can hear laughing but cannot see. Later he learns she is dead, but not because she was hit by his automobile. She had died from eating a body-building health food he had invented, a food which, while being manufactured, was somehow contaminated with a deadly poison.
