Come Away Death
Rich and dying Simon Brokar lives in a dark old house with his young girlfriend Bunny and his niece Nita, who don't trust Bunny's reasons for being there. When Simon meets Mr. Morris, who is actually Death in human form, they trade places with each other. But when life and death get mixed up and out of control, Simon has to give up his own life to make things right again.
In a somber old mansion lives wealthy Simon Brokar, who is terminally ill. His much younger fiancée, Bunny, and his niece, Nita, suspect her motives. Simon meets Mr. Morris, the personification of Death, and they switch roles. But as life and death become unbalanced, Simon must sacrifice himself to restore order.
Simon Brokar, a bachelor millionaire, lies deathly ill in his huge, gloomy mansion. He has no intention of dying, until one night he is visited by a Mr. Morris, who says he is Death and has come to take Brokar away. But Mr. Morris also offers a way out from the inevitable. To avoid dying, Brokar can exchange places with him and enjoy a fling with his beautiful secretary, Bunny Huggins. But Brokar’s lawyer is annoyed. He sees his client’s entire fortune winding up in Bunny’s bank account.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
