Come Back with Me
Bill Harlow wanders through his old neighborhood and enters a bar from his college days, finding nothing has changed. A cop brings him back to the present where his wife Zelda and business problems await. Refusing to deal with problems, he tries to persuade Zelda to return to the past and relive their lives differently.
This poignant story of an American couple in a small town is told against the background of their favorite jazz tavern, now in ruins. Bill Harlow, in his mid-fifties, is haunted by memories of the past and sits in the tavern's ruins reminiscing about his life with Zelda. The story ends with the collapse of the structure, sealing his fate.
A touching tale about Bill Harlow, a man in his fifties, and his wife Zelda from a small American town, set in their beloved jazz bar that now lies destroyed. Bill is troubled by old memories and spends time in the wrecked tavern thinking about his years with Zelda. The story concludes when the building falls down completely, trapping him inside.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
