Death Is a Dream

In a tough neighborhood, teacher Mary Collins hunts down the man who killed her brother while trying to keep her job and stay sane. Her principal doesn't trust her reasons at first, but slowly starts to see how hard she works at both teaching and solving the murder.

In a grueling city district, teacher Mary Collins pursues her brother’s murderer while keeping up her job and her sanity. The principal, skeptical of her motives, gradually begins to see her dedication to her work and her investigation into the crime.

Mary Collins, who teaches English in the middle class section of town, cannot understand why the police have been unable to apprehend the killer of her brother, a cop, gunned down while on duty in the slum area. Determined to find the killer himself, she wrangles a transfer to the slum school—but everybody is suspicious of her and no one will even give her the right time of day.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
