Death Is Blue
Detective Julia Hoffman looks into the shady business deals of Paul Darrow, who plans to marry a rich young woman. The woman's brother worries that Paul wants to steal her money and might hurt her. Things get worse when the woman turns up dead and Paul vanishes, making Julia wonder if she missed something important.
Julia Hoffman, private eye, is unable to stop the marriage of Matilda Bascomb, whose face is blemished by a large blue birthmark, to playboy Paul Darrieux, who admits he likes her money. Matilda’s brother Edward, who has squandered his half of the family fortune on fast women and slow horses, also likes his sister’s money. With her dead, he would get it. But now that she is married, her husband would get it—unless he dies first.
Detective Julia Hoffman investigates the suspicious business dealings of Paul Darrow, whose engagement to a wealthy heiress causes her brother to fear for the girl's fortune and her life. The case grows more complicated when the girl is found dead and Paul disappears, leaving Julia with an unsettling doubt.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
