Did I Say Murder?

Eleanor of Aquitane, the outstanding woman of her age, leaves her husband, Louis VII of France, for the love of Henry VII, king of England. But Eleanor senses trouble in her new English paradise when Henry introduces her to his new friend, Thomas Beckett. Henry disregards her warnings and is sorry years later when four of his liegemen kill the saintly Beckett, now archbishop of Canterbury, thinking they are acting on Henry’s orders.

Eleanor of Aquitaine, sharp and astute ruler, reflects on her life alongside King Henry II of England. Their strategic union is filled with political maneuvering and personal complexities. As Henry's former Chancellor, Thomas Becket, becomes Archbishop of Canterbury, the conflict between crown and church grows, culminating in Becket's murder.
