Diogenes, Inc.

When the circus returns to town, trouble follows. The sneaky ringmaster Max Maximus has disappeared and might have started a fire. Two ex-circus performers who now work as detectives, Alfredo Pinto and Selma Sylvester, discover that Max has a twin brother named Paul, making their case much harder to solve.

The circus is back in town, and so are its old problems. Max Maximus, the sly showman, is suspected of arson and is missing. Former circus stars turned detectives, Alfredo Pinto and Selma Sylvester, find that Max has a twin brother, Paul, who complicates their investigation.

Alfredo Pinto, a pint-sized clown, and Selma Sylvester, the "Lady Hercules," are out of work when their show burns down. The clever Alfredo decides to become a private eye and invites Selma to join him in the venture Diogenes, Inc. Then police chief Maloney offers the pair their first case: to investigate their former boss.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
