Fool’s Gold

A marine scientist becomes fixated on pirate gold hidden near a distant island's bright beaches. When his helper sabotages his breathing equipment underwater, his wife - who loves treasure hunting but worries about the cursed riches - dives in to rescue him from the ocean depths.

Hank Leavitt, oceanographer and scuba diver, has come into possession of a 150-year-old map which he believes shows the exact spot in the Caribbean where Captain Lafitte’s ship, the Marie Sanglante, laden with gold, foundered and sunk. Finding this fabulous lost treasure has become an obsession with Leavitt, but when he, aided by his young wife Jinx, is finally successful, he has to contend with the ghost of the famous pirate, who has his own ideas about the gold.

The sunlit shores of a remote island are the setting for a marine biologist's obsession with the treasure of a pirate ship. His wife, who shares his passion but fears the curse that surrounds the loot, plunges into the sea to save him from drowning when his assistant cuts his air hose.
