While touring the wards of Briarwood Sanitarium, Dr. Thurman hears a strange voice assuring a frightened, uncommunicative patient, Agatha Millford. Suddenly, Agatha’s major enemy at Briarwood is killed, and all clues point to Agatha. Convinced that she is neither a murderer nor a schizophrenic, Dr. Thurman researches her background to discover the identity of the sinister “sister” of this only child.

Furtive conversations take place between an unseen entity and a patient of a sanitarium for the insane. A freak accident triggers a chain of events that lead to the discovery of her horrifying family secret.
