Give the Devil His Due
The tragedy of Alexandra, a once-great ballerina who, in desperation, seeks to regain her youthful beauty and lost talent through a pact with the devil. Her husband John stands by her as she struggles with the consequences of her ambition and the magic of Azazel, who promises to restore her if she will make an ultimate sacrifice.
An aged dancer attempts to enter a pact with the devil to sacrifice her soul in return for her youth and skill. But she backs out of the deal at the last minute - with severe consequences.
Alexandra was once a famous ballerina, but now she's older and can't dance like before. Desperate to be young and talented again, she makes a deal with the devil. Her husband John tries to help her as she faces the terrible price of her choice. The demon Azazel says he'll give her back everything she lost, but only if she gives up something precious in return.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
