Hit and Run

Ruletta Pound, who posed as witness to the “accident,” tries to blackmail Congressman Paul Foster, driver of the fancy red sports car that killed Louie LaPeer, the Flopper. Because he had his mistress with him, the congressman fled the scene. Though the scandal could ruin his career, he has no intention of paying the $150,000 Ruletta demands to keep quiet. Instead, he concocts another way of dealing with her.

A sordid tale of ambition and crime in a big city, where a Congressman, a singer, and a blackmailer become involved in a murder that threatens to ruin them all. The policeman at the periphery of the story steadily gathers evidence against them until the climax shows the killer.
