Haughty Mrs. Victoria Soames foresees disaster for her social standing when a ghost scares away not only her servants, but worse, all of her socialite friends. Though she refuses to believe in ghosts, Mrs. Soames does hire private investigator Spencer Smallwood to drive out whatever’s haunting her house. Her main fear: that before he does so, her archrival, Mrs. Van Poundsworth, will have taken her place at the top of the social register.

A detective looks into strange happenings at the Soames family home, where spooky voices and weird events have made the woman who lives there very nervous. Her jumpy helper brings some laughs to the scary situation, but things get more intense as no one can figure out who the ghostly voice belongs to until they discover it's an Algonquin chief.

A private investigator probes the secrets of the Soames mansion, where ghostly whispers and unexplained disturbances have put the lady of the house on edge. Her jittery servant's antics provide levity, but tension mounts as the spectral voice remains a mystery until it is identified as that of an Algonquin chief.
