Is the Lady Dead?

Concerned only with piling up a fortune, millionaire Barney Kreuger has never married—until, while driving in England, he falls in love with Rachel. After a brief courtship and a week of marriage, Rachel dies. Barney, who has spent his life getting what he wants by investing time and money, decides to devote his fortune to bringing his wife back from the dead.

In a candle-lit study, millionaire Barney Krueger struggles with the loss of his wife, Rachel. His belief in her supernatural return is bolstered by the mysterious reappearance of her diamond ring. As he recalls their love story, he teeters on the edge of sanity, but ultimately finds solace in the love that transcends death.

Wealthy man Barney Krueger sits in his dimly lit office, heartbroken over his dead wife Rachel. When her diamond ring mysteriously shows up again, he becomes convinced she has come back from beyond the grave. While remembering their romance, he nearly loses his mind, but eventually discovers comfort in a love that lives on even after death.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
