Journey to Jerusalem

Elwood Joris, a wealthy but lonely man, finds his existence a gilded cage. He meets Madame Solanas, a mysterious woman living in one of his neglected properties. Her claim of being able to foresee and influence the future sends ripples through his life as he grapples with her unsettling presence and the moral quandaries that arise from it.

Rich but isolated Elwood Joris feels trapped in his fancy life. He discovers Madame Solanas, a strange woman staying in one of his forgotten buildings. She says she can see what will happen next and change it, which turns his world upside down as he struggles with her disturbing influence and the tough choices it brings.

Elwood Jarvis, rich from the manufacture of filters, pleads with a $50-a-day psychiatrist to make him 25 years younger, so he can marry a woman who will love him, not his money, and have time to make real friends. It seems an impossible request—until Jarvis is accosted by a strange woman with raven black hair and deep black eyes. All that needs to be done, she says, is to find a robust, 30-year-old man willing to exchange bodies—and brains—with him.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
