Killing Valley

Polly Preston goes back to her hometown called Killing Valley, set on uncovering the real story about what her family did years ago. As she digs deeper, she uncovers terrible hidden truths and learns how complicated the bonds were that kept her family united. When she faces off with Josiah Killing, the powerful man who runs the town, she realizes that figuring out the truth matters more than getting even.

Polly Preston returns to her hometown of Killing Valley, determined to write the truth about her family’s past. Her investigation finds dark secrets and shows the complexity of loyalties that held her family together. In confronting Josiah Killing, the town's patriarch, she discovers that understanding is more important than revenge.

Author Polly Preston, seeking revenge, returns to her home town to write an exposé about the vicious people who live there, particularly the powerful and wealthy Josiah Killing, who, she claims, caused her parents to be ostracized years ago. After she narrowly escapes a hit-and-run attempt and her publisher rejects the book, Polly fears that Killing is out to get her too, until she stumbles on a damaging letter her mother entrusted to Killing before she died.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
