Leave Well Enough Alone
At a Paris coffee shop, Henri Lantin, a simple office worker, falls for the lovely Celeste Laurier. Even though they're close, he can't bring himself to ask her to marry him because writer Guy de Maupassant tells him to watch out for Celeste's charm. When Henri gets a letter that makes him question whether Celeste is faithful, his perfect dream falls apart.
In a Parisian café, Henri Lantin, a humble clerk, is entranced by the beauty of Celeste Laurier. Although they are close, he hesitates to propose marriage, influenced by the advice of writer Guy de Maupassant, who warns him against the allurement of Celeste. A note casting doubt on Celeste’s fidelity shatters his idyllic vision.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
