Les Misérables, Part V: The Final Chapter
A former convict fights Paris police while trying to rescue his badly hurt friend, remembering the kindness others once showed him. His devotion to the wounded man forces the police inspector hunting him to decide between showing mercy or following the rules.
Jean Valjean struggles against the Parisian police in his desperate effort to save the gravely wounded Marius and harken back to the mercy he has known in life. Valjean's selfless care for his injured friend evokes a crisis in his pursuer Inspector Javert, who must choose between mercy and the law.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
