Lost Dog

Description

A new wife can't stop thinking about her husband's dead first wife in this spooky mystery. The big old house feels scary and dark around her, and a terrible ghost tries to ruin her happiness. When Richard shows up just in time, he stops his mean sister's wicked plans, and bright sunlight finally shines on the young husband and wife as they get ready to leave the haunted house behind.

Jenny Morgan accompanies her new husband, Richard, to his estate on a cliff overlooking the Pacific and immediately encounters savage dogs, a housekeeper whose resentment is obvious, a vengeful sister-in-law, and the legend of Richard’s former wife, a movie star whose sudden death looks less and less like a suicide to Jenny.

In the atmospheric mystery, a bride is haunted by the memory of her husband's first wife. The shadows of the grand estate loom darkly over her, and a ghastly specter threatens to shatter her peace. Richard's timely arrival thwarts the evil designs of his jealous sister, and sunlight at last pours in on the young couple preparing to leave the haunted house.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
