Love After Death

Each of Marta Daninoff’s piano concerts seem to get better. The reason, her agent and friends believe, is that she is playing for her husband, Andrei, whom she loves deeply but hasn’t seen since 1946, when he returned to their native land. Authorities there announced his “elimination” in 1959 because of his political activities against the state. Marta, who keeps playing despite a serious illness, is certain he’s still alive. But every lead she receives concerning his whereabouts turns out to be a dead end.
