Lovers and Killers

Actor David Miller, a member of the jury, hears the testimony of a man who was arrested by the police, minutes after he allegedly shot and killed his lover’s husband. He also hears the testimony of the woman involved. Both give very different versions of what actually happened. Miller, a very sympathetic person, believes both stories and cannot in good conscience declare the man either guilty or innocent. The rest of the jury members must also make up their minds.

CBS takes pride in backing quality drama and will showcase plays from this series that have already proven successful on their regular dramatic shows. The opening play is "12 Angry Men," which follows a jury's discussions about a murder trial. What seems like a simple verdict becomes complicated as each juror reveals their own character and prejudices.

Proud of its record in sponsoring good drama, CBS will present in this series plays which have been tried and found successful in its regular dramatic programs. The first play in the series is "12 Angry Men," a drama of a jury's deliberations in a murder case. The verdict proves a mere formality as the jurors show their individual personalities and biases.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
