Nobody Dies

When Mrs. Holt hires Alice to care for her house and her just-born daughter, Verity, she is delighted that Alice’s young son, Jamie, will be Verity’s playmate. But as the years pass and the children become teenagers and then college students, Mrs. Holt is determined not to let Verity and Jamie marry. However, her determination destroys not only the closeness the four shared, but also leads to a haunting experience and death.

A young woman with a small child takes a job as a maid to a pregnant widow. Their children grow up together and the boy falls in love with the girl. But she moves away and finds someone new. He is devastated.

A mother and her little daughter get work cleaning house for an expecting widow. The kids grow up as friends, and the boy develops feelings for the girl. When she leaves town and starts dating another man, the young man is heartbroken.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
