Shelter

When nuclear war threatens, several people seek safety in a nearby bomb shelter. As fear grows, the shelter's owner turns the group against each other.

The threat of nuclear war forces a group of people to take refuge in the bomb shelter of their neighbor. As tension rises, the shelter's owner spreads ill will amongst the camp's members.

Sloan Cunningham, his wife Petra, and her lover, Warren Crisp, meet to have a frank and civilized discussion of the Cunninghams’ impending divorce. But a nuclear accident halfway around the earth triggers worldwide panic and leads to Sloan’s only bargaining point: Petra and Warren may start their new life together with his blessing if they leave the safety of the “shelter.”

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
