A newspaper writer feels he must investigate what happened to a woman who died just one day after he told her to leave her husband.

A columnist finds himself honour bound to pursue the case of a woman whom she had advised to walk out on her husband and was found dead the very next day.

Doreen, whose syndicated column is read by millions, sincerely believes she has never given the wrong answer to any question sent in by her readers. But when a woman she told to leave her husband is drowned in an auto accident, Doreen has a suspicion that the woman’s husband, who managed to survive, may have intentionally driven the car into the water. She takes a few days leave from her desk to find out if her suspicion has any merit.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
