Stand-In for Murder
A scientist wants to kill his wife and marry his assistant, so he creates an exact copy of himself to do the murder. But trouble starts when the clone begins to think for itself and makes its own plans.
The desire to murder his wife so he can marry his assistant causes a scientist to clone himself, and use the clone to kill her. Things become sticky when his doppelganger begins thinking independently and develops ideas of his own.
Dr. Gray Hall longs to leave his wife, Phyllis, in order to marry his attractive associate, Dr. Jean Thurston. His solution is to invent a clone of himself that will murder his wife. His horrified associate reveals Hall’s scheme to Phyllis, who quickly makes her own plans for the second Dr. Hall.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
