The .44 Connection

An older office worker gets fired because of her age. Angry about being treated unfairly, she fights her boss in a duel and beats him. When the police start looking into what happened, her dead grandfather's ghost helps her handle the cops.

An aging secretary is laid-off due to her age. Incensed by the discrimination, she challenges her boss to a duel and wins. An investigation takes place and the spirit of her long-deceased grandfather guides her in dealing with the local police.

Jeremy Lewis had plenty of enemies who might have killed him with an antique Colt, including the wife he was trying to divorce and his blackmailing mistress. But then there’s another possible suspect: Nellie Murdock, descendant of a Custer lieutenant, recently fired by Lewis after 25 years of devoted service.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
