Lorna Barrett is playing the lead role in Medea, Euripede’s tragedy about a woman who kills her sons to spite her husband after he deserted her for another woman. With each performance Lorna becomes more engrossed in her role, subconsciously substituting her present family for Medea’s and reaching a point where her husband, Ted, discovers her standing over their 5-year-old son’s bed, a knife poised in her hand.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
