The Benjamin Franklin Murder Case

Ben Franklin is the hero in this case of an assassination in a Philadelphia mansion in 1750.

In 1750 Philadelphia, Ben Franklin becomes the hero who must solve a murder that happened at a grand house.

A fine old Philadelphia house stands empty because its owner, young Sarah Clemmons, cannot afford the upkeep, yet she can't sell it because of the ghosts that reputedly reside there. Sarah and her cousin, Richard La Porte, persuade a prospective buyer, Mr. Chiver, to investigate the house at night to disprove the ghost theory, but Chiver is murdered there. Sarah calls on Benjamin Franklin to solve the mystery.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
