The Bluff
Description
A former cop who lost his sight plays a dangerous game of cat and mouse, putting himself in harm's way to catch the man who took his vision and destroyed everything he had.
Since being blinded by acid thrown in his face by a punk mobster, former police captain Joe Trager has improved his sense of hearing so he can tell, by the creaking of the floor boards, where anyone is in his living room. He puts out a phony story about an operation he has agreed to that will restore his eyesight. He hopes this will lure the acid-thrower, fearing recognition, to his living room and give the former cop a chance to shoot him. His family and old friend, Rick Pearson, think he’s crazy, but this is how Trager wants to exact his revenge.
In a high stakes game of blind man's bluff, a retired police detective uses himself as bait to lure out the man who blinded him to exact revenge for ruining his life.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
