The Charnel House

A young woman takes a job at the nursing home where her father lived so she can find out what really happened when he died. While working there, she discovers a terrible and shocking secret.

Concerned because she hasn’t heard from her father, who has been a patient at the prestigious Chisholm Clinic, for three months, Jane Pryor leaves her voice school in Vienna and heads for Cape Ann, Massachusetts the clinic’s location. She finds Dr. Chisholm incapacitated, her father dead, and the clinic in the hands of an unscrupulous doctor and nurse with nefarious schemes on how to keep getting money for the cure of patients already dead. Neither patients nor Miss Pryor can escape because of a pair of vicious Doberman pinschers.

To discover the truth about her father's death, a young woman becomes a staff member in the rest home in which he resided. There she uncovers a horrifying and gruesome secret.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
