The Damned Thing
Professor Hugh Morgan's death becomes a mystery when three conflicting accounts emerge. His wife claims he was shot, while his mistress insists he drowned, and an Indian guide suggests a snake bite. A young newspaper reporter, however, believes Morgan fell victim to "that damned thing"—proposing an altogether different cause of death remains to be uncovered.
A government worker looks into how a wealthy man died, and every person who saw what happened tells a different story. The dead man's closest friend tells the coroner that a strange, unseen beast killed him - a creature with a color that people cannot see.
A government official investigates the death of a very rich man an each witnesses narrates the incident differently. The man's best friend informs the coroner that he was murdered by a mysterious, invisible creature of a color invisible to human eyes.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
