Unable to sleep at night due to a recurring nightmare in which young Julie Connors finds herself locked in a small, dark room, she disobeys her strict father's edict and arranges a clandestine date with Tim Sandler. When he picks her up, Tim's plans include holding up a liquor store. Unaware of his actions, Julie is nevertheless arrested and finds herself in a prison cell, living the nightmare. Her father, Seth, refuses to bail her out, while a psychiatrist and minister do their best to keep Julie from going insane.
