The Dead Come Alive

When the residents of a small Ohio town learn of the impending visit of a man who claims to have the power to raise the deceased, they are far from pleased as they believe that the secrets of the dead are better off buried.

The people living in a small Ohio town get upset when they hear that a man is coming to visit who says he can bring dead people back to life, because they think some secrets should stay hidden forever.

Professor Marvelli’s claim to be able to raise the dead meets general skepticism in Vesalia. But when Marvelli’s life is threatened by an anonymous “committee,” Mayor Lucas Kane realizes someone in town must believe Marvelli’s ability—perhaps the murderer of Peggy Thatcher, whose name she could reveal if brought back to life.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
