The Death Wish
George Solway, who is nearing the breaking point because of overwork, hypertension and too much alcohol, rejects his wife’s suggestion that he seek medical help. Instead he listens to some commuter train advice from an Indian mystic who advocates “rhapsodic meditation.” It works for a while, until Solway begins dreaming, while meditating, that he needs another woman because his wife is secretly seeing her high school sweetheart again.
A businessman under extreme pressure starts seeing disturbing images of his cheating wife when he tries to meditate. At the same time, a mysterious beautiful woman from another world appears to him and tries to convince him to leave his reality behind and join her in her dimension.
While meditating, a highly stressed businessman has visions of his wife's infidelity. During these "rhapsodic" episodes, he is also hounded by an ethereal beauty that convinces him to step into another dimension to be with her.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
