A wife enlists the aid of a politician in order to find her missing American husband. The congressman sees it as a tool to propel his campaign and takes advantage of the situation.
A woman asks a congressman to help locate her vanished American husband. The politician uses her case to boost his own election chances and exploits the situation for personal gain.
Irene Thatcher turns to her congressman for help when her husband, an oil engineer on the verge of a major technological breakthrough, does not return—much to her chagrin—from a trip to Paris. The congressman orders his assistant, Purvis, to investigate, hoping he is stepping into an international oil plot that will turn him into a national figure. But Tom Thatcher has disappeared for reasons only he knows and can control.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
