The Ghost-Grey Bat

When the two Americans settle into the Austrian house, they soon meet the frightening protector who watches over the property and uncover its horrifying hidden truth.
After swapping homes with a couple from Austria for a year in order for the college professor to finish his book in peace, the two young New Yorkers move into the home. Before long encounter the terrifying guardian of the Austrian home and discover its gruesome secret.
Alec and Moira Grant seize an opportunity to trade their Manhattan apartment for a remote Austrian chalet for a summer. The gingerbread house–like cabin turns out to have everything they dreamed of, including a grandmotherly housekeeper, Frau Zauber. But a huge grey bat appears nightly in their bedroom, and it bears an uncanny resemblance to the kindly Frau.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
