The Gift House

A series of unexplained happenings torment a young couple after they inherit a home in upstate New York. When their burglar alarm keeps going off by itself, they wonder if they are being haunted by a ghost, or are they plagued by something more sinister.

A young couple gets a house in upstate New York from family, but strange things start happening that they can't explain. Their security system keeps turning on when nobody is there, making them think a ghost might be in their home, or maybe something even worse is after them.

Recently fired Ted Pryor and his pregnant wife, Nancy, are delighted to find that Nancy has inherited a house from an unknown uncle. But when they visit the unexpected property, they find the big old house ransacked. Then the IRS shows up, ready to collect the missing thousands of dollars old Uncle Chris won at the track just before he died.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
