The Glass Bubble

A young woman locks herself away in a clean glass chamber because she thinks it lets her predict when people will die.

Doris has lived alone in a room she calls her glass bubble for 43 years. She has come out for meals, her father’s death and to tell Tom Struthers to forget about marrying her. Later, Tom marries Doris’ sister, Joan, a marriage that doesn’t work out because according to Joan, Tom is jealous of the many other men in her life. But these men are only a figment of Joan’s imagination, men created by the devil who, in Joan’s life, has taken the form of a big black dog that never leaves her side.

Believing it gives her the power to foresee death, a young woman isolates herself in a sterile glass room.
