The Gloria Scott
The evergreen Sherlock Holmes tale of unravelling a case around a mutiny aboard the ship Gloria Scott with the help of a coded message from one of its survivors.
Sherlock Holmes is challenged by elderly, wealthy Sir James Trevor, during their first meeting, to put his fabled deductive powers to a test—to tell what he can about Sir James' hidden past. Holmes is so accurate that Sir James turns pale and demands to be put to bed. What Holmes has begun to uncover is why the Gloria Scott, on which Sir James was a passenger, was mysteriously lost at sea.
Sherlock Holmes solves a mystery about a rebellion on the ship Gloria Scott by decoding a secret message from someone who lived through it.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
