The God Killer

A typist is accused of murdering the author for whom she works. She insists that the murderer was a character from a novel fighting for his survival.

A secretary stands trial for killing the writer who employed her. She claims the real killer was a fictional character from a book who was battling to stay alive.

Alistair Pollister, author of violent and murder-filled stories, is fatally knifed, and the police suspect his longtime secretary, Ursula Underwood. However, Miss Underwood claims that “The Shiv,” one of Pollister’s sinister characters, actually committed the murder. The police don’t believe her story and try to make her sign a confession, but she refuses, saying to the baffled cops that Shiv will appear in person to verify her story.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
