The Hanging Judgment

After a fierce argument, a married couple shoot at each other with guns. The wife dies from a bullet wound to her back, leading to murder charges against both the husband and his helper.

Dr. Sam Grant and his girlfriend, Sherril Stafford, both charged with the murder of his wife, swear to their lawyer, J. Carr Justin, that they are innocent. Grant willingly admits he and Sherril were visiting his wife to ask her for a divorce when the shot that killed her rang out. Only when the district attorney produces a surprise witness who claims that Sherril hired him to murder Mrs. Grant does Justin begin to suspect that one or both of his clients are guilty.

A husband and wife exchange gunfire after a heated altercation. When the woman ends up dead from a shot in the back, the man and his servant are tried for murder.
