The Haunted Mill
A young traveler goes on a three-year trip. While he's gone, his girlfriend back home falls in love with someone else. When he comes back, she starts having feelings for him again, which makes her new boyfriend angry and wanting revenge. But the traveler is too busy dealing with an old, spooky mill to notice what's happening.
Dr. James Patmore refuses to believe the story of young Charley Royce, back home after three years at sea. Charley comes to the doctor one dark night, suffering from a severe head wound. He says he was hit while passing an abandoned mill which, he claims, has been inhabited for years by ghosts. Dr. Patmore has no use for such stories of the supernatural, but he does agree to accompany Charley on a midnight visit to the run-down building.
A young voyager takes up a long journey lasting three years. His sweetheart back home falls for another man in his absence. But his subsequent return strokes her old passions much to the chagrin of her present beau who swears revenge. The traveller meanwhile is completely preoccupied with a decrepit, haunted mill.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
