The Ice Palace

A routine ice-breaking mission turns to be of vital importance when the sailors discover that the polar ice caps are melting. The pilot sent to discover more disappears, prompting the dispatch of another team to find him and more information.

While trying to find the reasons for the sudden appearance of open water in many normally frozen sections of the Arctic, causing Russia and the United States to hurl verbal charges at each other, Captain Joe Gates and his Eskimo friend, Kullabak, fall into a deep crevasse. They are met below by a man living in an ice palace who calls himself Raven and who claims he has invented a machine, using the laser beam principle, with which he plans to flood the entire Earth.

A regular mission to break through ice becomes critically important when crew members find out the polar ice is melting away. When the pilot sent to learn more goes missing, another team gets sent out to locate him and gather additional details.
